Goat anti Human Mcl-1 antibodyrecognises an epitope within the C-Terminal (CT) region of human Mcl-1, otherwise known as Myeloid cell leukaemia sequence 1, a mitochondrial-associated anti-apoptotic member of the Bcl-2 family, which acts as both an enhancer of cell survival (isoform 1), and promoter of cell death (isoform 2).Mcl-1 is expressed in many different cell lines, and several types of cancer, and blockage of its function, may prove to be a useful therapeutic agent in the treatment of malignancies and inflammatory and infectious diseases.Goat anti Human Mcl-1 antibody is expected to recognise the longer gene product, isoform 1.

This product is shipped at ambient temperature. It is recommended to aliquot and store at -20°C on receipt. When thawed, aliquot the sample as needed. Keep aliquots at 2-8°C for short term use (up to 4 weeks) and store the remaining aliquots at -20°C.Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended.
