Human anti Human cytokeratin 14 antibodyrecognizes human cytokeratin 14 (CK14), a 472 amino acid, acidic type I intermediate filament. The intermediate filaments are expressed as heterodimers in epithelial tissues. CK14 is expressed in the basal compartment of all stratified squamous epithelia and is co-expressed with cytokeratin 5 (CK5).Mutations in the cytokeratin 5 (KRT5) and cytokeratin 14 (KRT14) genes have been identified in patients with the skin disorder epidermolysis bullosa simplex (Coulombeet al.1991) and in other epidermal conditions including Naegeli-Franceschetti-Jadassohn syndrome and dermatopathia pigmentosa reticularis (Lugassyet al.2006).Human anti Human cytokeratin 14 antibody recognizes human cytokeratin 14 as a band of ~52 kDa in HeLa cell lysates by western blotting under reducing conditions.

This product is shipped at ambient temperature. It is recommended to aliquot and store at -20°C on receipt. When thawed, aliquot the sample as needed. Keep aliquots at 2-8°C for short term use (up to 4 weeks) and store the remaining aliquots at -20°C.Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended.
